November Beauty Favorites

This year has definitely gone by so quickly and it took me a long run into November to even realise it was already fall. As the temperature decreases and the wind gets colder my skincare tend to change in the same order to protect the dryness and exposure that comes with the cold weather.

My biggest problem concerning my skin this autumn was the change of climate. I moved countries and so my skin acted up, probably in a desperate way to balance all the changes in food, temperature and humidity. As a matter of fact, my skin has never been as dry and unhappy as it's been these past months, trying to adapt to the new surroundings. So today I'd like to showcase my favorite products of November, all of which have brightened and helped my skin throughout the recent rainy days. Let's have a look!

A newcomer to my everyday routine is the Clarifying Lotion by Clinique, a brand I've been trying out the past few months. Out of all the products (I also recommend the Dramatically Different Moisturixing Lotion, it's super good for dry skin!) I've tried from this brand this is the number one product that stuck with me. After I've cleansed my face and before I put on my moisturizer I always use this as it both helps with removing the last makeup bits on your skin, as well as really prepare the skin for the moisturizer. I use this twice a day and it really helps to freshen up my skin. This is a must for your everyday cleansing routine.

Speaking of Clinique I've been using their eye cream twice a day during this fall and I've been really loving it. It's super lightweight and gentle which makes it really easy to apply, and it's been great for those extra stressful days when you would normally have undereye circles, to really cover and treat the eye area. This product also makes your make up last longer, which has been a blessing on those days when I've been out and about all day. This little guy do so much with so little and that's why it's one of my favorite beauty products this month.

I've been using this on my entire eye area and as a result it has really improved the skin around my eyes, especially the circles puffs I used to get so often, which are now almost entirely gone thanks to this product. If you're looking for a new eye cream, look no further!

Jumping from skin products to make up products we have my recent favorite mascara, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl by Dior. I've always opted for non-waterproof mascaras as I see no reason to almost have to tear your lashes off when you're washing your face in the evening. This mascara is easy to apply and just as easy to remove. What I love about this product is that the variety of it is endless. As an example, for a night out I'd firstly use an eyelash curler and then add about two coats of the mascara to really give my eyes some volume and curl. For everyday use I'd instead wipe some of the excess mascara off with a cotton pad and then apply a minimal amount, which gives a flirty and sweet look. This product is great for the ones seeking to really show off a voluminious curl and spark!

Going back to my issues with my skin acting up these past months, my lovely friend and flat mate who used to work at Lush, recommended me a set of skin products that would help my skin find its way back to its natural state. The Tea Tree Water is a toner which I usually spray straight onto my face or with a cotton pad after I've removed my make up. It helps to cleanse deeply into your pores to really get the oils and dirt out, and leaves you feeling fresh and content. On top of that, it smells super lovely and can be used throughout the entire day.

The Celestial Moisturizer was the second recommendation of the set of skin products from my friend, and this stuff is amazing! This is perfect for those who have really dry skin as this is both lightweight as well as keeps a heavy coverage throughout the night or day. I always apply this after I've used the Tea Tree Water, as the toner really helps to tighten and clean your skin, while the moisturizer really brings the smoothness and oils back into your face after an entire cleansing routine, which sometimes can take some of those natural oils away. This has a lovely scent of vanilla and coconut but is so subtle that it never gets too strong. If I have time in the morning I also like to apply this to my hands, arms and elbows to really help with the dryness that comes with the cold weather.

It doesn't go by a day here that I don't have to apply lip balm almost every hour. This is was the great wake up call, that fall had in fact arrived. Consequently, not having a lip balm with me at all times just became a big no no. This is my most recent and impulsive purchase, and it surprised me so that I just had to throw it in this month's favorites! I picked this up at a random drug store here in Japan, and the quality of it is amazing. I've always loved the products I've used from Nivea, so in regards to the brand it wasn't that big of a shock to be honest, but I've never used a lip balm that is as long lasting as this. My lips dry out really quickly and with this I can apply it once and not have to bother with another coat just thirty minutes later! It's in a slight pink shade which helps to put a discreet and sweet tint of color on your lips for the day.

Last but not least we have my current favorite blush from Visée, a drugstore brand from Japan. Because of my pale skin I've always turned to apricot shades when it comes to blushes, as it also goes quite well with my green eyes. However, I wanted to take the next step into the world of blushes and so I started lightly with this coral pink blush from Visée. It's my first time trying this make up brand,  and I'm really happy with the result.

The color blends nicely and is easy to apply, it doesn't fade during the day and most of all - it really suits my skin! I've also been loving applying it to my lips for an extra pop of color.

This blush is very versatile if you play around with it, a blush doesn't always have to be just for the cheeks!
Moving countries is always going to be a challenge for your skin. You never know how it's going to react and cope with all the new foods and environments. I'd like to think that my skin has been doing pretty good despite its breakouts and times of trial. I'm hoping as time passes by that it'll continue to adapt to its new environment. A healthy skin means a healthier me, which is so important.

I hope you've enjoyed my favorites of this month and please let me know if you have any great skin product recommendations! I'd be happy to try them out.
